Last week, I had the opportunity of presenting the research objectives of EEXCESS at the 21st Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization (UMAP), which took place in Rome, Italy. Covering topics like contextualised recommendations and adaptive interface, the conference and the community are highly relevant to the EEXCESS project.
We submitted a poster to the Late-Breaking-Results track of the conference detailing ideas of the project. Within the 3 hour poster session I had the chance to give a one minute madness presentation to attract people to the poster stand for further discussions. The presentation seemed to be mad enough, as I spent nearly all of the allocated time explaining and discussing project ideas.
In general, the following are emerging topics within the community: modelling users’ trust, personalised access to cultural heritage and adaptive user interfaces – all of them of great interest for the EEXCESS project.
